HISTORY
The International Training Center and Golf Course of Ilbarritz has officially been inaugurated in 1988, year of the Biarritz le Phare’s Golf Course centenary. Placed on an exceptional site, this unusual concept has been created by the architect Pierre THEVENIN. The various workstations of the Training Center allow complete training according to your desires or weaknesses. From the short game to full swing, on synthetic carpets or perfect grass, on flat or hilly lies, here, everything is conceived to work out every single aspect of the game.
This spot is the place to be for high level players, but it’s also ideal to make the first steps for beginners.
THE COURSE
9 HOLES – 14 HECTARES – 2176 METERS – 32 PAR
The impressive Ilbarritz Golf Course is a 9 holes golf course right on the cliffs of Atlantic ocean. Its scenic setting makes a great backdrop for a very enjoyable game. It is a highly technical course and was designed to test old established or new techniques or just for the enjoyment of a round.
THE TRAINING CENTER
The Ilbarritz International Golf Training Center In Bidart, a giant practice range unique in Europe, combining the beauty of the site and the technique of play, was built in the same style as the existing centers in Japan and the USA. It is a 14 hectares (35 acres) complex, which permits amateur or professional players to train or to perfect techniques.
Here, everything is designed to allow you to progress: 1 large circular practice (13 workshops), 2 putting greens, 1 pitching and 2 chipping greens, 1 9-hole course (par 32), 25 covered practice places. The centre offers golf tuition of the highest standards, for groups or individual lessons, with professional teachers and excellent equipment.
